SENSE Residency: Mint Water
The guiding thread of the new artistic season branded by MABOS is the poetry of Franco Costabile, which serves as a beacon in the choice of titles and conceptual nuances for each residency. "Mint Water" thus becomes a new significant reference to the Calabrian poet: a portrait marked by a realism that is not politicized, depicting the skin of a woman thickened and darkened by the toil of work, by the exhausting daily alienations, and by the back-and-forth of a self-imposed solitude. However, a moment of respite unfolds at the close, on the threshold of a house where a child allows himself to be kissed, inexplicably healed with mint water. This solution arrives, transcending the control of what is governed.
A small gift that is defined as a miracle due to its elusive nature. The humblest life finds its way among seemingly unsolvable mysteries and questions we constantly try to answer. This is the reason, so skillfully hidden in mint water, that now outlines the contours of Dario Agrimi's arrival at MABOS.
Dario Agrimi
An eclectic artist, he has been active in the field of contemporary art since 2001. He is a professor of Painting Techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. His creations range from painting, sculpture, photography, video, installation, to performance. His most recent experiments result from a meticulous pursuit of artistic perfection. He stages hyperrealism that amplifies emotions and reduces the distance between reality and fiction. He has participated in numerous collective and solo exhibitions in galleries and institutions across various cities in Italy and abroad. He lives and works between Trani, Rome, and Turin.
MABOS – Museum of Art of the Sila Forest

The exhibition park, which has been expanding its collection since 2017 and thus possesses a variable number of works, can be explored for free at any time of day or night. Visitors may have the fortune to encounter resident artists directly, witness the creation of artworks, and participate in cultural events, talks, and educational workshops for both adults and children.
SENSE It is funded with resources from the PSC Development and Cohesion Plan 6.02.02 granted following the 'Cultural Activities 2022' announcement by the Calabria Region – Department of Education, Training, and Equal Opportunities – Culture Sector".
